Obituary:

Derrick Davis, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021, in a Charlotte, NC hospital.

He was a 1990 graduate of Tyner High School, where he ranked top in his class. Derrick was 11th in AAU Tennis in the State of Tennessee. He received the largest private scholarship in the history of Morehouse College which was over $400,000 in contributions. Derrick was consecrated as an ordained Bishop within the Shield of Faith Movement. He was a producer and talent manager where he developed and groomed talent. He also consulted and produced a number of independent films and projects.

Derrick leaves to cherish his memory with his loving son, Spencer L. Davis, grandsons, Jordan and Jaylen, and soon to be granddaughter Journey, all of Atlanta; his mother, Priscilla Sanders, and father, Charles (Deanna) Ward, all of Chattanooga; his nephew, Pastor Adrian "AD" Davis, Los Angeles, CA; niece, Camille Davis of Chattanooga; a host of cousins; other relatives and many friends.

Derrick will lie in state on Saturday, May 22, at 9 a.m. at Olivet Baptist Church.

A family service will follow at 10 a.m. with Pastor Adrian "AD" Davis as the eulogist.

Burial will be on Monday, May 24, at noon in York Memorial Cemetery in Charlotte, N.C.
