Sharon Lou Mitchell, 74 of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Weirton Medical Center.
She was born on May 27, 1947 in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late Everett Coen and Hazel (Miller) Coen of Wellsburg, WV. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years Donald Jay Mitchell on March 26, 2020. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Fay Coen.
Sharon graduated from Wellsburg High School Class of 1965. She worked for Brooke Glass Gift Shop as a Manager. She was a member of Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church. She had a love for sewing and glass collecting and spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother Hazel, Sharon is survived by two sons, Jay (Angie) Mitchell, Kurt (Becky) Mitchell both of Wellsburg, WV; two sisters, Darlene (John) Porter in Bridgeport, OH, Charlotte (John) Minda of Bethany, WV; three brothers, Ray (Sharon) Coen of Wellsburg, WV, Darrell (Debbie) Coen of Wheeling, WV, Marvin (Maureen) Coen of Wellsburg, WV; three grandchildren, Christopher (Rebecca) Mitchell, Brianna (Dallas) Mitchell, and Austin (Brittany) Mitchell; six great grandchildren, Damian, Lydia, Brooklynn, Berkley, Emmett, Emerson; a brother in law, John (Joan) Mitchell of Wellsburg, WV; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation for Sharon will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dave Keister officiating at the Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV 26037.
Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.
