James Burdette Newton Jr. passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021 at his home in Krum, Texas. He was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, to James and Sally Newton on June 28, 1956 and grew up in Ector, Texas. He graduated from Ector High School in 1974. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Matt.
Jimmy worked for many years as a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad. He established Paladen Real Estate in Krum in 2002, where he has been a staple of the community for 20 years.
Jimmy had a passion for music and enjoyed playing guitar. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and he got a kick out of cheering on kids at community sporting events. An animal lover, he had many pets over the years, and also had success in racing horses.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter Misty Foster and her husband Matthew Foster, and granddaughters Olivia and Sophia of Frisco, TX, stepson Brian Flynn of Krum, TX and stepdaughter Ashley Smith also of Krum.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 5, 2021 at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Leonard, Texas.
