He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William, Joseph, Frank, David, Arthur and Gary; sisters, Ruth Bess, Irene Hale, Mildred Schlemm and Nancy Blankenship. Surviving are his wife Sheri; children, Shannon (Jim) Neuman, Sean (Kara) Sheppard and Bobbi (Matt) Duewer along with five grandchildren, Jake and Josh Neuman, Cody and Cherokee Duewer and Shyanne Sheppard all of New Berlin. Two step grandchildren, Blaze and Jordan Luttrell. Also surviving are one brother, George Sheppard of Berlin and sisters, MaryLou Hagaman of Carlinville, Shirley (Bob) Lomelino of Virden and Barbara Barker of New Berlin, and many nieces and nephews.
He was actively serving as Island Grove Township Road Commissioner at his time of death. He previously served as a Trustee for the Village of Berlin for many years. He worked as a farm hand, worked as a roofer with Roofers Union Local 112 of Springfield, and side by side with his son for the last 24 years in the trucking industry.
He enjoyed all types of racing over the years and most recently, cheering on his grandson and great-great nephew. He loved going to flea markets and auctions, motorcycling, fishing, basketball games, playing cards and gardening. Bob just enjoyed being outdoors. Most of all he loved family gatherings with his children and grandchildren.
