She was born September 5, 1921 on the family farm in Sanilac County to the late Albert and Amelia Warschefsky. She married Edgar R. Nelson on June 8, 1940. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1988.
Marion graduated from Deckerville High School in 1937. After raising her children, she was employed with Sears Roebuck. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Marion made quilts for Lutheran World Relief and was past president of the Mary Martha Guild.
In retirement, Marion traveled throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. She also enjoyed traveling in Canada and made frequent trips to the Stratford Theater. An avid reader and master of crossword puzzles, she could quote from memory her favorite poems as well as lines from Shakespeare well into her nineties.
Marion is survived by her son, Eric Nelson; five daughters, Kathleen (Jason) Jasonides, Ann (Conrad) Wisniewski, Pat (Joe) Fowler, Janet (Gregory) Fessenden, and Barbara Nelson (Gregory Worth); nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joyce Warschefsky; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Willard and Leland Warschefsky; step-father, Edward Warczinsky; step-brother, Carl Warczinsky; and two step-sisters, Dorothy Schultz and Martha Deike.
Funeral Services will be held at noon on Monday, June 7, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Friends may view the livestream of the service by going to Marion's obituary on the funeral home website. Dr. Mark Madson will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
