She was born February 2, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Irvin Tabor and Lenore (Wilson) Shultz.
Elizabeth was a 1955 graduate of University High School in Waco, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Education at Baylor University in 1958. Later in life, Elizabeth earned a master's degree in social work at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1981.
Her favorite season was spring when she enjoyed her roses, tulips and other blooms. Reading, gardening, traveling and antiquing were her favorite pastimes.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Christopher Mitchell Jr.; and a granddaughter, Sarah England.
Elizabeth is survived by four daughters, Lenore (and husband, Jonny) England of Elkins, Valorie Shue of Elkins, Ericka (and husband, Bruce) Bowen of Fayetteville and Jennifer (and husband, Jim) Sims of West Fork; a son, Greg Meisch of Florence, South Carolina; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Susan S. Smith of Buda, Texas.
A Graveside Service will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
