Jessie Francom Olsen, 92, died peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2020. Jessie was born June 28, 2020 in Payson, Utah to Ernest Harding Francom and Prudence Hudson. Jessie's mother died shortly after childbirth when Jessie was born. Jessie was raised by her aunt and uncle. She married Kenneth Jack Olsen on February 28, 1946 in Payson, Utah. She later divorced and never remarried.
Jessie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings within the church. She completed a service mission and did many humanitarian projects.
Jessie was an information officer and photographer for the Utah wing of the Civil Air Patrol. She was also the Kearns correspondent for the Deseret News and a photographer for KCPX-TV. She worked for Sperry-Univac and retired after 15 years of service.
Jessie always said that she would go out kicking because she would never be finished with all the things she wanted to complete. Jessie has many things that she considered her pre-occupational therapy. She loved to do crafts, sewing, genealogy, and especially gardening. Jessie knew that the Lord walked and talked with her as she worked in her garden.
Jessie lived for her family. They were her life and her love. She took a lot of pride in raising her 5 children. Her 1st born Larry J., died shortly after birth. She is survived by her children Bonnie Sowby, Connie (Ed) Livingston, William Jack (Christine) Olsen, David Richard (Dawna) Olsen, DeAnn (Ron) Carter.
We know that she had a glorious reunion with her family that has gone before her including her mom and dad; her son Larry; and all of her brothers; and sisters.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the AMAZING staff at Sunridge Assisted Living. In the past 3 years she lived there, she has been blessed to be around so many wonderful people. We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to Kaisley Ault. Kaisley you have been extremely helpful to our sweet Jessie and her family during her last few weeks. We are so very thankful to all that helped bless Jessie's life.
A viewing will be held for immediate family only at McDougal Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 8th, 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road. To all that want to attend, please remember to wear a mask.
