Survived by his wife, his parents, two daughters and one son. Also a sister and brother. His brother Rick Barnett passed in 1999.

Stephen moved to Camarillo, California at the age of 18 months and attended the Pleasant Valley School District grades K - 6, and the Los Altos Intermediate School grades 7 and 8 and the Adolpho Camarillo High School grades 9 - 11 then he joined the Air Force. Later on he attended the Rogue Valley Community Collage for 2 years in Medford, Oregon.

Stephen was a veteran of the Air Force. He was crew chief in charge of Maintenance on C-141 Globemaster and also for the C-135 Hercules and C-5 Galaxie aircrafts. He enjoyed mechanics even after the Air Force.

He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed building and flying model rockets. His other hobby favorite was gardening.

Stephen made friends easily and had a big smile for everybody. He will be dearly missed by his many friends and his family.

Stephen's ashes will be interred in the Highland Cemetery in Iola, Kansas [sic].
