Kenneth "K.W." Barrett, age 77, of Kirbyville, Texas passed away on Monday, May 31,2021 in Kirbyville.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 2pm at Shultz Funeral Home with interment to follow at Bean Cemetery in Kirbyville.

The family will greet friends on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 4 ~ 6pm at the funeral home.

A native of Talco, Texas, Kenneth was born on May 8, 1944 to Aubrey and Helen Faye Barrett.

He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy, was a resident of Mt. Pleasant and of Kirbyville for the last 40 years. He was an engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad until his retirement. His retirement was spent as a self-employed carpenter. He could do anything, build anything and drive anything. He was also the nickname giver for the family, bestowing personal nicknames to all the kids and grandkids. He is survived by his son Thomas Wayne Barrett "Tom Tom" and wife Anita of Houston, daughters Tammy Waynette Barrett Phillips "Sissy" of Kirbyville and Tricia Waynette Barrett "Woo Woo" of Kirbyville, sisters Tina Zeigler and husband Ron of Wills Point, Texas, Christine Hunter and husband Kelly of Lonestar, Texas, Martha Cain and husband Tracy of Webster, Texas and Shirley Moore husband Brian of Carrollton, Texas, as well as nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
