Age 92 of Circleville, Ohio died Aug. 14, 2011, at home under Hospice care.
Jo-Ann was born September 18, 1918 in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from West High School in 1936 and Office Training School in 1937. She worked for North British Insurance company from 1937-1940 and the U.S. Army at Fort Hayes until 1942 when she married Robert (Bob) Huffman and moved with him to Wilmington, Delaware. In Wilmington, she worked for Hercules Powder Company for several years. At Bob's retirement in 1977 they traveled extensively in their motor home.
She was an active member of Peninsula and Peninsula-McCabe United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She gave generously of her talents to the community; teaching sewing at the Neighborhood House, working at two homeless shelters—Friendship House and Sojourner's Place, and serving lunches at the Emmanuel Dining Room in Wilmington, Delaware.
In 2002 Bob and Jo-Ann moved to Circleville, Ohio to reside in an apartment attached to their daughter's home.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert Huffman, daughters, Elanna (Larry) Grover of Circleville Ohio and Susan (Bob) Reisdorf of Baltimore Maryland, son Robert Louis Huffman Jr. of Eugene Oregon, grandson Matt Grover of Circleville, Ohio, granddaughters Cassandra Bowers and Julianne Huffman, both of Eugene, Oregon, and sister Marcia Hoover of Columbus, Ohio.
Her body was donated to The Ohio State University and will be cremated. No memorial service will be held.
