He was born November 05, 1928 in Belton to the late Gary F Thomas and Bertha Cox Thomas.
He was a faithful member of Belton First Baptist Church since 1942, and he was a Past Master of Belton Lodge #130. He served on the Anderson School District 2 School Board for 32 years, retired from Colonial Pipeline and he was a part time employee of Cox Funeral Home for over 40 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home, are his children: daughters, Ann (Randy) Fagg of Belton, Janet (Randy) Herd of Madison Al, Betsy Sackett of Anderson; sons, Jim (Dawn) Thomas of Buford Ga, Ted (Dottie) Thomas of Belton; grandchildren, Amy (Jr) Standridge, Dr Andrew (Monica) Herd, Amanda Herd, McKenzie Thomas; Great grandchildren, Emily Standridge, Seth Standridge, Nathan Herd, Katelyn Herd, and Megan Herd.
Private burial at Forest Lawn.
