Patricia Ann Nash
Mar 21, 1936 -
Dec 1, 2020
Patricia Nash (Cinker), born March 21, 1936, to Frank and Jennie Cinker of Belt, Mont., and an Alaskan since 1958, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020.
Pat worked her way through college as a nurse while she earned her degree in education and received her teaching certificate.
True to her pioneering spirit, Patricia loaded her car in Belt in the summer of 1958 and drove the Alcan Highway to start her elementary teaching career on Elmendorf Air Force Base.
She raised four children, and touched the lives of countless many others through her community involvement, actions and grace.
Pat and her husband Ed, of 53 years, were actively involved in education and social charities around the state of Alaska throughout their entire lives.
It would be hard to find anyone who more embodied the quiet, steadfast strength of character represented by the phrase "Alaskan Pioneer" than Patricia Ann Nash.
Patricia is survived by her children and grandchildren; her sister, Carelyn; and her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, just four days prior.
Memorial mass will be said at Holy Family Cathedral in Anchorage, Alaska, on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at 12 p.m., which can be attended via livestream.
The family welcomes donations to The Brother Francis Shelter via Catholic Social Services in Anchorage as an expression of sympathy, instead of flowers: https://www.cssalaska.org/our-programs/brother-francis-shelter/support-brother-francis/.
