On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, James Cleyon Davis, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 85. He is in the presence of His Savior and the arms of his beloved wife.

Cleyon, as he was known by family and friends, was born in September 1935 to James and Lucille Davis. Cleyon graduated high school in Azle Texas. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He met his beautiful wife, Geneva, on a blind date, and they were married in February 1969. Cleyon retired from the Texas Highway Department (now TxDOT) in 1985 after 30 years of service. Later, he became a beloved school bus driver/maintenance worker at Thrall ISD. Cleyon had a passion for gospel music; he served for 25 years as worship leader at Knobbs Springs Baptist Church. He was always busy supporting/serving his family, friends, church, and community. He loved cars and traveling all over the country with his wife and family.

Cleyon is survived by his daughter and son, two brothers, two grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Geneva F. Davis.

Celebration of Life Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Knobbs Springs Baptist Church in McDade, Texas. Interment following at Knobbs Springs Cemetery.
