Shirley was born August 14, 1933 in Centralia, Illinois to Louis J. and Nina E. (Daggett) Klosterman. She attended Hoyleton high school and graduated from Centralia High School in 1950. Graduated from Elmhurst College in 1955 and Eden Theological Seminary in 1958 with a Master's in Christian Social Work. She married Herbert R. Lowe on September 5, 1958 who preceded her in death on March 19, 2004. During her work life Shirley worked as a Volunteer Coordinator at Ypsilanti Regional Psychiatric Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She also worked as an SSI Disability Examiner. She was active in the Church Communities that her husband served. She volunteered on many organizations and boards. Project Transition, Parish Partnerships, Affordable Housing, and Michigan Re-entry Initiative to name a few.
She is survived by her children, Roderic Lowe, Kimberly Lowe, Kirsten (Jimmie) Cunningham, Rolf (Amanda) Lowe, and Barbara (Larry) Tait; grandchildren, Meghan (Erick) Johnson, Ashleigh Lowe, Alana (Catherine) Cunningham, Adriana (Angel) Cunningham, Ryleigh and Lena Lowe, Angela (Rob) Walker, Aaron (Taunja) Gores, Kerri Tomakich; and11 great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Elmer and Keith Klosterman.
