William Allen (Billy) Bartlett, 66 years old, peacefully passed away May 30th, 2021, in his home with loved ones by his side. Billy battled cancer for over a year with exceptional courage and his distinct upbeat character, always trying to reassure those he loved. He fought bravely and fiercely until the very end.

Billy had a tender heart that showed through his love of family and his animals. His two dogs, Sadie Marie and Tater Tot, followed him everywhere and brought him daily happiness. A gentle man known for his big strong hugs he was always there to help friends, family and anyone who needed him at a moment's notice. His big heart and easy-going character made all who met him feel instantly accepted, and those closest to him always knew how much they were loved.

Billy was a General Foreman with Fluor at the Martin Lake power plant. For over 35 years he continued to work at the plant he helped to build. His input and expertise were highly valued and respected, and he shared it easily. He was vocal and headstrong, able to argue a good point while still being fair and honest. He was candid to a fault, which was also one of his most endearing qualities. He loved his job, his many co-workers and friends, all which brought him happiness and fulfillment.

Billy was a NASCAR fan and a "Harley Guy" who enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was an avid gardener with a natural green-thumb. One of his greatest pleasures was working outdoors around his property on a never-ending to-do list of projects. He got satisfaction from seeing a job well done, enjoying the beauty of his surroundings and moving on to the next project. Billy also loved spending time in front of his grill, where he took great pride in expertly cooking a steak that would melt in your mouth! He was in his element while spending the day at that grill, entertaining and cooking for his family and friends.

Billy is survived by his wife Rachel Bartlett of Tatum, Tx, father William E. Bartlett of Anniston, AL, son and daughter-in-law Jerrett and Kelly Bartlett of New Braunfels, Tx, son William T. (Billy) Bartlett and his fiancée Jodi Dallas of Denton, Tx, daughter (Baby Girl) Ashley Bartlett of Oklahoma City, Ok, sister and nephew Rebecca and Alex Kreutzkamp of San Antonio, Tx. Billy's love of extended family includes stepsons David and Cody Thomas, as well as step-grandchildren Kylie and Jacob.

Billy is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Norma and Bob Kreutzkamp, sister Robin Bartlett, mother-in-law Alma Grantland, and stepmother Juanita Bartlett.

A celebration of Billy's life will be held at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Tx at 2pm on Saturday June 5th, 2021.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to UT Health East Texas HOPE Cancer Center of Tyler, Tx in Billy's honor.
