David Michael Handley passed away in his sleep, of natural causes, the morning of Sunday, December 27, 2020 at home, in his favorite chair. He had been suffering from different health issues in relation to a "west nile" mosquito bite, received in early 2019. David was born Sept. 8, 1955 to James M. and Martha Jane Lane, Handley, in East Liverpool Ohio. David is preceded in death by his only sibling, younger brother, Jerry Handley, as well as, his father, James M. Handley and mother Martha Handley. David went to West Virginia University (Chester, WV) from 1974 – 1976. He was a very proud "Mountaineer" and continued to appreciate the community in that area, even after he moved away. After his time at WVU, David moved to Southern California in 1977. He attended Cypress College of Mortuary Science (No. Orange County) class of 1982. He met and married Dehbra Lynn Murray in May 1978. They had three of their four children while still living in California, Desiree Michelle, Damian "Buddha" Michael and Drew Mitchel Handley. David moved the family to Phoenix, Arizona, where Dallen Mikhail Handley was born. Dehbra and David divorced in 1999. Yes, we four siblings share the same initials of D.M.H., done purposefully, something we all will continue to appreciate fondly!

David worked for "Lucky" Grocery stores for many years, in CA and AZ, leaving "Lucky" as a seasoned Store Manager, while finishing Mortuary School. David truly enjoyed helping others, especially sharing his knowledge and care of the process of losing loved ones. He took his position as a Funeral Director seriously. Earning one of the few "cremation" licenses, at the time, in the state of Arizona in 1984. He worked up until the day he died, doing what he loved, helping others! David is survived by his four children and his thirteen grandchildren.
