Lee Roy Stanley, age 81, of Rome, GA, passed away Saturday evening, May 29, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Stanley was born in Cherry Log, GA, on January 9, 1940, son of the late John Warfield Stanley and Othello Mann Stanley. He had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County the greater part of his life and was a graduate of Coosa High School. Mr. Stanley had worked with Inland Rome Paper Company for a number of years and was a member of the Rome Church of Christ. He enjoyed making all kinds of items from wood including furniture. Mr. Stanley's favorite pastime was when he was on the golf course. He was a member of Kraftsman's Club where he had served several years as president. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Stanley, two sisters, Jannie Ruth Baker and Nellie Wilson, a daughter Christy Heard. His son, Keith Stanley, passed away just a few hours after he did.

Mr. Stanley is survived by his wife, Ann Erwin Stanley; two daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie and Danny Diprima, and Lee Ann Davis, all of Rome; a son, Adam Stanley of Rome; two sisters, Glenell Fricks of Rome, and Lorene Williams, of Elijay, GA. Five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Stanley has been cremated.

A private family graveside service will be held in the Stanley Family Cemetery in Blue Ridge, GA, for Both, Mr. Stanley and Keith Stanley.
