Jerry was born in Bakersfield, California in 1948. His family moved to Oklahoma where he was raised. Jerry served his county after being drafted to the Vietnam war. He served as part of the 82nd Army Airborne and had great pride in knowing that he fought for freedom. After he was discharged, Jerry moved to Colorado where he met and married the love of his life, JoAnn Phillips. They had a beautiful marriage that spanned nearly 48 years filled with lots of love and laughter.
Jerry was a jack of all trades. He knew a little bit about a lot of things. Jerry was known for his love of NASCAR and Oklahoma University football. He also had a passion for model trains which made him a hero to his grandkids. He passed his love and knowledge for hunting, camping, fishing and 4 wheeling down his sons. He was always there to teach them about the things that were important in life. In his later years, he was a constant figure on the sidelines of his grandson's sporting events. He rarely missed a game. He was always there to lend a helping hand and support to those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Phillips, mother Grace, sister JoAnne, and his brother David. Jerry was a devoted husband, loving father and wonderful grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
