Phyllis was born into a large family and family from the start was everything to her. In her younger years, she was very athletic playing softball, soccer and represented her class as a cheerleader. She loved tending to her home, keeping it immaculate from the inside and out. She served the church at First Baptist Church in Cumberland and loved her church family well. She was stylish, witty, funny, loving, strong, generous, brave, caring, courageous and the BEST Mom, Grammy, Sister and friend to all. She loved more than anything in this world spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She made holidays with her family so very special creating memories of a lifetime on Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving and celebrating birthdays, always going the extra mile for her family. She will be missed dearly by many and loved always. Her legacy will carry on through her children and grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by her three children, Kent (Jacki), Anita Rice (Gregg), Alison Rundle (Brian); 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, John and Roger; two sisters, Helen and Carol "Sis:" Ind addition her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Kenneth, Carlos and Meredith; two sisters, Dorothy and Winnie.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. June 7, 2021 at Hendryx Mortuaries New Palestine Chapel. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at the New Palestine Cemetery, New Palestine.
