Mary Lyons Byers of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the age of 93. She was born February 7, 1928 in Leesville, Louisiana to Joseph and Mary Lyons.

She was a Sunday school teacher for more than 60 years at Calvary Baptist Church and Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory are five children; Debra Byers, Mary Lecocq, Phil Byers (Debbie), Steve Byers (Tina), and Craig Byers; grandchildren, James and John Lecocq, Joshua, John and Mary Elizabeth Byers, Casey and Bradley Byers, and Jessica Glenn; numerous nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Homer O. Byers and her parents.

A graveside for Mary will be held Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Pelican Cemetery in Pelican, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. Price Harris.
