Beverly "Bev" Jean Hughes, 80 years old and a resident of Harrah, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, May 28th,2021 at her home. Beverly was born on July 8th, 1940, in Oklahoma City to her parents Alice and Willis Austin. She graduated high school from Choctaw High School, then went on to attend some college. Beverly married the love of her life Donald Ray Hughes on August 7th, 1956 and they spent 60 wonderful years together. Throughout her life she worked for the State of Oklahoma, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church as a Secretary and before retirement was an underwriter for Farmers insurance. Bev loved reading cozy mysteries, playing wordscapes, sunflowers, Coca Cola, the green bay packers, Conway Twitty, and attending church and sharing her faith with her family and friends.
Beverly Is survived by her sister Betty Briscoe; son David Hughes and wife Jennifer, daughter Kathy Webie and husband Mark; grandchildren: Stephanie Chestnut and husband Nathan, Zachary Webie, Jacob McMullen and spouse Elizabeth, Olivia Hughes, Emily Hughes, Misty Hughes, Jared Hughes and Jenna Hughes; great grandchildren: Jaxton McMullen and soon to be born, Peyton McMullen; nephew: Jerry Babione and wife Tracy. She is also survived by many other friends and family who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Donald Ray Hughes; son Gary Don Hughes; and parents Alice and Willis Austin.
