David Nelson (Cushaw) Payne, 63, of Amonate, VA, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 in Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA. David was born March 12, 1958 in Iaeger, WV, a son of the late John and Pearl Baker Payne. David was a retired truck driver; he enjoyed watching his chickens, riding his side by side and hunting.
In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell and Lee Baker and one sister, Wanda Clough.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 4, 2021 at 1 o'clock with Elder Gary Estep, Elder Jackie Yates and Elder George Baker officiating at the Mary Lou Old Regular Baptist Church on Stateline Ridge near Paynesville, WV. Burial will follow in Irvin Payne Cemetery on Estep Ridge near Paynesville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family Thursday evening, June 3 2021after 6 p.m. at the Mary Lou Old Regular Baptist Church on Stateline Ridge near Paynesville, WV. Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV, is assisting the family.
