Clara Belle Young, 91 of Paris, Illinois, passed away 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 31, 2021 at her residence. She was a clerk and cashier at Kroger, had worked at Woolworth's, and had been a caregiver for several years.

She was born August 1, 1929 in Paris, the daughter of the late John and Lucy (Gordon) Melton. She married Arthur Allen Young, Jr. on November 22, 1949. He preceded her in death August 28, 2009.

Survivors include two daughters, Penny Donovan of Paris and Bonnie Carpenter of Wheatcroft, Kentucky; a sister Mary McHenry of Marion, Indiana; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father; her mother; and nine brothers.

Mrs. Young loved to dance and to go shopping. She was a very loving and devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful lady, and was definitely one of a kind.

For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
