William Hershel "Bill" Yates, Jr., age 81 of Parrish, AL, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at his residence.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Providence Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Bill Ellis will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his Father-William Hershel Yates; Mother-Mary Henning; Infant daughter- Rhonda; Son-William Hershel Yates III; Brother-Otis Baker.

Born and raised in Indiana, "Bill" as most people called Mr. Yates, worked as a diesel mechanic for the same trucking company for 37 years. Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge at 279 Sugar Creek Lodge Fairland, Indiana. After retirement in 1998, Bill and Eunice moved to Ms. Eunice's hometown in Parrish, Alabama where he did contracting work for Taft Coal. Most days you could find Bill in his garage with his son Randy tinkering on any one of his classic cars.
