Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Mamou on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, for Vivian (Courville) Johnson, 76, who passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021.
Father Billy Massie, Pastor of St. Ann's Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the Mass and conduct funeral services.
Burial will take place in Pine Point Cemetery.
Vivian (Courville) Johnson was born on October 6, 1944, in Mamou, LA, to Curley and Esther (Guillory) Courville.
She was a devout catholic and an active parishioner at St. Ann's Catholic Church. She faithfully attended mass with her husband and family, and she prayed the rosary daily. Vivian taught catechism and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She loved collect knick-knacks and enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time at her camp. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
Vivian is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph "Joe" Johnson; sons, Gregory Johnson and Timothy Johnson; daughter, Monette Manuel and husband, Kirk; grandchildren, Paul Johnson, Alaina Coreil, Morgan Chapman, Trudy Johnson, Cory Johnson, Lauren Manuel, Julie Manuel, Nicole Manuel and Luke Manuel; great grandchildren, Marley Manitakes and Max Manitakes; and her cousin, Mary Duos.
She is preceded by her parents, Curley and Esther Courville; daughter, Mariesha (Johnson) Chapman; and brother, Fred Courville.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed in her honor by Deacon Chuck Ortego on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
