During WWII she met Vernon A. Williams Jr. at a USO function at church and after the courting, they married at her church in St. Louis. She became the epitome of a Texas woman. May you be blessed." One of her favorite prayers was, "The light of God surrounds us. The love of God enfolds us. The power of God protects us. The presence of God watches over us. Wherever we are, God is."
