Steven Gerald Cox, age 61, of Tracy, CA died peacefully on December 14, 2020, after years of battling heart issues. He was born on December 27, 1958 in Pomona, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Lucille Cox.
Steve is survived by his wife, April (Polmeteer) who he was devoted to for 40 years. He also leaves behind his beloved daughter, Ashley, who was the pride of his life.
Steve never met a stranger. He was generous, athletic, and the ultimate networker. He was loyal to his job and loved the people he got to work alongside. He was an avid sports fan and if you knew him in his prime, he probably beat you in bowling or on the softball field. He served for approximately 20 years on the Tracy Youth Soccer League as everything from a coach to a board member. He also coached softball in multiple leagues, everything from Tracy Express to travel ball to the West High JV assistant coach. You could call Steve from anywhere in the state and he could direct you to the local hot spots or best burger in the area.
A memorial service and BBQ will be held for Steve in the spring once Covid regulations allow us to celebrate him properly. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association.
