Kenneth Gordon Hart died peacefully August 9, 2019 as a result of a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor.

Born August 15, 1957 the only child of parents Kenneth C. Hart and BettyJane V. Hart, Kenneth Gordon was raised in Cochranton, PA.

A 1975 graduate of Cochranton High School, Kenneth Gordon attained a Bachelor's degree from Gannon College in 1979, later attaining a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Gannon University in 1990. Ken's early career included Free-Col Laboratories, where he served as Business Manager, Purchasing Agent and later started their VA division in Roanoke, VA. For the past 23 years, Ken has served the NC State Government as Environmental Engineering Specialist in the NC Department of Public Safety.

Known for his attention to detail, his friends and neighbors held him in the highest regard for his manicured lawn and the meticulous way he cared for his home and family, including his Chihuahua Stuey. His painstaking and elaborate holiday trimmings were his contribution to his community and brought great joy to many adults and children. His family will remember him as a skilled bartender who developed signature craft cocktails for holiday parties as well as being the consummate host. He loved music in nearly all forms and played piano and organ throughout his life, often relaxing in the evenings with a martini while playing a beautiful piano piece. His sense of humor and laugh were distinct and memorable. His deep and abiding love for his family was demonstrated on a daily basis with acts of support, often anticipating needs and preparing for eventualities no one had yet considered. He amazed his wife and son by consistently knowing all the answers on Jeopardy as well as with his boundless strength, energy and organizational skills.

Kenneth Gordon is survived by his wife Debra K. Hart (Oakes) and his beloved son Carson Dale Hart as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law Dale Arden Oakes (Janet) of Lake City, FL and Curtis Rae Oakes (Beverly) of Cochranton, PA, a niece and nephew Charles and Jennifer (Oakes) Knight of Shippenville, PA, an aunt JoyAnn Hovis of Cochranton, PA as well as other cousins.

Kenneth Gordon was preceded in death by his parents.

Kenneth Gordon will be inurned in the Cochranton Cemetery on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 10AM. All are welcome.
