Irene Evans, 90, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 in Acworth, GA. She was born August 7, 1921 at Rubgy, VA, daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Sheets and Winnie Cathern Reedy Sheets. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Alvan Evans; daughter Anna Ruth Brooks; six brothers and two sisters. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Brenda Evans of Troy, KY; daughter, Kim Hamby of Acworth, GA; sister, Bess Berwick of San Leandro, CA; son-in-law, Charles Brooks of Calhoun, GA; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. She loved God and her family very much and will be missed by all. Graveside memorial services will be held 1:00p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Coffey-Sheets Cemetery, Woodsbend, KY, with Bro. Greg Chaney officiating. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Coffee-Sheets Cemetery in care of Bank of the Mountains, P.O. Box 309, West Liberty, KY 41472. Potter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
