Melba grew up in the coal mining towns around Raton, then the family
settled in Raton.
Melba graduated high school at 16, and her first job was as bookkeeper
at the Ford Dealership in Raton. While she was there, one of the
customers started calling her "Toasty", which she answered to until her
death.
Melba married Norbert William Evans 12/11/1952 in Raton. They then
moved to Denver, where their 3 daughters were born and raised.
Melba worked many bookkeeping jobs, and retired from the Colorado
Department of Revenue Office Audits Division.
She was pre-deceased by Parents, Husband, Son; William and sister,
Charlene Coleman.
Melba was a long time member of Grace United Methodist Church and
HHWP HOA.
She enjoyed camping, sewing, travelling, getting together with friends
and relatives, and her dogs, especially Mooch.
