OBITUARY: Herman D. Wood
Hamlin - Herman D. Wood, 78, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007, in Aspermont. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Aspermont with Rev. Truitt Cochrell officiating. Burial will be in Neinda Cemetery, directed by Adams Funeral Home.
Born July 3, 1929, in Stamford, Herman was a son of the late Johnny and Lucille (Hubbard) Wood. He married LaVern Morris April 4, 1952, in San Angelo. Herman worked as a maintenance man for General Crude until his retirement in 1976. Herman was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hamlin.
One son (Danny Herman Wood) and one brother (James F. Wood) preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, LaVern Wood of Aspermont; one son and daughter-in-law, Lanny and Lesa Wood of Denver City; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jerry Hahn of Aspermont; and five grandchildren, Landra Wood, Logan Wood, Jody Wood, Lauren Hahn and Joshua Hahn.
Visitation will be Friday 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Hamlin. The body will be at the First Baptist Church in Aspermont at 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service
