Yancy was the first child of Max and Nell Dalton. He grew up on the family ranch. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ in Australia, 1962-65. He attended college in Cedar City, UT. He married Audrey Jeanne Black in 1966. They were the parents of six children - Terril, Julie, Ecco, Dillon, Sean and Ariane. They divorced and he married Diana Marie Williams. He worked most of his life as a fence contractor. He was cremated and his remains are buried next to his father in the Verdure Cemetery
