She was married to Donald Coulombe, Sr. of Pownal and together they raised their family in Pownal.
Alice was an exceptional baker and was very well known for the various special pies she made. She loved crocheting, coloring, and enjoyed watching her birds, especially the hummingbirds. Everyone loved Alice's humor and laughter was always in her presence.
Alice was predeceased by her parents; and her son-in-law Herkie Couture. Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Donald H. Coulombe, Sr. of Pownal; daughter Gloria Couture of Brunswick, son Don Coulombe, Jr. of Freeport, son Roger Coulombe and his wife Linda of Rangeley, son Roland Coulombe and his wife Aneta of Milford, Conn., daughter Debra Mitchell and her partner Chris Mercier of Brunswick; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to offer a word of thanks to the staff and nurses of CHANS for the care they provided to Alice and the family during this difficult time.
Visiting hours will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick. A memorial service will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with Reverend Ron McLaughlin officiating. Spring interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery, Pownal.
