Second mayor of St. Louis, Missouri (1829-1833). Page was first a baker, then a flour mill owner and later a banker, railroad promoter, and real estate subdivider. Page Boulevard in St. Louis is named for him. As mayor he helped to start the movement to bring railroads to St. Louis and aided largely in the construction of the Ohio and Mississippi Railroad. He strengthened the Health Department and established the first public waterworks system.
