John B. Sanderson went home to Jesus. He was a retired U.S. Army Major. He was retired from the State of Alabama as a Corrections Officer. He graduated from Livingston College. He led a scout troop, Troup 66, and was most proud of his son Michael earning an Eagle Scout. John was a long time Mason and was a member of the Springville lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years and his son and daughter in law and granddaughter, two sisters, as well as many nieces and nephews.
John made the choice to not have a funeral but his ashes will be interred in the National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL. John was a mountain of a man with a heart as loving as his stature.
