Ronald A Mitchell, age 85, earned his Heavenly Home on May 27, 2021. He is predeceased by his parents Sarah Irene (Lawley) and Alpheus Lucas Mitchell (married 1931), Jr; his brother, Thomas Mitchell. Ronald is survived by his wife, son, daughter, two granddaughters, and a sister.
Ronald graduated Ensley High School and attended Auburn University. He worked for and retired from Southern Company Services. Ronald served his country in the US Marine Corp in Japan. He was well known for his wood carvings and his love for everyone. Ron had served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Hunter Street Baptist Church.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home from 10-11 with service immediately following. Ronald will be buried at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo in a private service.
