Margaret Earlene Haynes, 84, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021 at her home in Junction City. Cremation has taken place. No memorial services are planned. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS.

Margaret was born September 19, 1936, in Chanute, KS the third daughter of Ruth (Patton) and Byrle Haynes.

She attended Alcott Elementary School, Royster Junior High and was a graduate of Chanute High School.

Margaret traveled throughout the United States while serving as an office manager for a construction company. Upon her retirement, she made her home in Florida. Ill health brought her to Junction City, KS to be near family.

Margaret was known as the family historian, spending years researching family members and sharing family records. Her funny and serious anecdotal recollections will be treasured for years to come. Margaret was noted for sending reminders to wear green on St. Patrick's Day which she called "Dads Day" which was her father's birthday.

Margaret is survived by two brothers, Ron (Donna) Haynes and Don (Helen) Haynes; two sisters, Emma (Vernon) Manion and Carol Haynes all of Junction City, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, K.C; one sister, Lois; one nephew, Eric.
