The 1880 Census shows that George was living in Marion County, Florida with his wife Jane B. and children Henriette(?), Susan C. & David C.
The Florida State 1885 Census shows that George was living in with his wife J.R. and children W.E.(daughter), S.J.(daughter), D.C.(son) and nephew B.R. Anderson.

George Martin Gunnels, Dr b 1817 Greenville Co, S.C. d May 1896 Williston, Levy Co, FL was a son of William C Gunnels b 1785 VA d 1844 Greenville Co. & Temperance Martin b 1786 SC d 1851 Greenville Co. They are buried at Fairfield Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fountain Inn, SC.

He served in Company D 3 Battalion South Carolina Infantry C.S.A. South Carolina ( a Physician ), Induction: Captain when Discharge: a Major and moved the family to Florida after the Civil War.
