Helen F. Lyons, 90 years old, of Centre Township, Elliottsburg, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Elmcroft of Reedsville. She was born July 3, 1930 in New Bloomfield to Elmer and Sarah (Frownfelter) Fry. She was a life long member of the former Trinity United Church of Christ , New Bloomfield and a graduate of Perry Joint High School and Central Penn College. Upon graduation, Helen worked at local banks and later was the owner of an abstract of title company based out of the New Bloomfield Courthouse. She was a farm wife who loved gardening, canning, sewing and creating the best Halloween costumes. Favorite past times included puzzles and word searches, but her greatest joy was her love for her family.
Helen was the widow of Neil Lyons and is survived by her daughter, Sarah Morrison and her husband Richard of Elliottsburg; sister Ina Malatestinic of Harrisburg; grandchildren, Emma Groff and husband Senjen of Elliottsburg and great grand sons Reed and Colt Groff, Madelyne Weaver and husband Nate of Maryland and Tessa Morrison of Elliottsburg. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Richard Fry.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at New Bloomfield Cemetery for inurnment at 11:00. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Lupfer's Grove, Shermans Dale beginning at 12:00. A fellowship picnic will follow.
