He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia to Raymond Brinkley Sr. and Mary Evelyn Lee Morgan.
He was a retired First Sergeant in the U.S. Army, past master of the Masonic Lodge, and a lieutenant for the Portsmouth Sheriff's Department for 10 years.
Survived by his wife, Mary E Morgan; daughter, Marsha Murphy; son, Raymond B Morgan III; sister, Rebecca "Becky" Panlilio; brother, George C Morgan; grandchildren, Kelly, George Michael and Lily Isabella; great grandchild, Daisy M; and many other family members and friends.
Services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
