Michael Edward Hale, 61, of Sandy Hook, KY peacefully entered into his eternal home on May 27, 2021 with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born on October 2, 1959 to Roby & Geraldine Hale of Greenup.

His family and friends knew Mike as a generous man. Whether it was a wooden cross he carved, a twisted stick he whittled, or a homemade fried apple pie he had made, you never left his house without a gift. When others doted on his handiwork, Mike would say, "I'm a jack of all trades, master of none." But we think he mastered many!

Mike owned his own painting business for 25+years where he worked all over the Tri-State area and his clients became lifelong friends. His perfectionistic tendencies and attention to detail made him among the best and most sought after in his field. He was an innovator and could find a solution to any problem.

In addition to his handiwork, Mike loved to fish, cook for his family, attend church services, hunt arrowheads, play his guitar and roast the tires off his '91 Chevy Silverado. He held the title of "life of the party" well. He loved to entertain company and would often break out in a little jig to make us all laugh. He was always in a good mood and ready to encourage. In his final days, company would visit Mike in hopes of uplifting him, but they would be the ones to leave encouraged. He never complained during his sickness and was completely confident that his Heavenly home was awaiting him since his rebirth in 2011. He was a faithful servant and member of Fannin Enterprise Baptist Church where he witnessed up until his final breath. He loved to worship with his church family and cherished them dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roby Hale, Jr.

Mike is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 24 years, Sherry Hale who was by his side through it all; his children, Mackenzie (Colt) Bowman, Ronnie (April) Skaggs, Tiffany (Jacob) Fritz, Jason (Leigha) Hale, Josh (Jenni) Hale, and Daniel Hale; his ten grandchildren, Cael, Abe, Emmitt, Hannah, Abbi, Crayston, Brice, Alissandra, Dylan, and Heaven; and a great grandson, Paxton; his sisters, Sharon Kay (Juan) Thomas and Judy Hale (Bill); and Bella, his canine companion whom he loved dearly. Mike leaves behind several special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will mourn his death.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, May 31 at 1:00pm at Lewis and Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook. Services will be officiated by Bro. Charles Skaggs and burial will follow at Elliott County Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be from 11:00am till time of service on Monday, May 31 at the funeral home.
