Ralph Sloan Elliott Jr., 71, died Friday, May 28, 2021 at Hospice of Wendover Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Ralph Sr. and Sarah Falls Elliott. Ralph was a loving husband, father and grandfather who retired as chief probation and parole officer. He enjoyed hunting and carving hunting decoys with his friend William Hamrick. Ralph sold real estate with Allen Tate and was an Auctioneer, Mason and Shriner. He was a charter member of Crestview Baptist Church and a member of the Prodigal Sons Sunday school class. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Brayden Sloan Nicholson. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Dixon Elliott of the home; daughter, Brooke Nicholson and husband Bam of Shelby; sister Sarah Owensby and husband Chip of Kings Mountain; granddaughter, Piper Sloan Nicholson; nieces, Nikki Lowery, Sarah Wagman and Casey Owensby. Funeral services will be held 11am Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Crestview Baptist Church with the Revs. Stan Webb and Artie Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
