DECEMBER 1, 1951 – MAY 21, 2021
George Garcia Silva, of Houston, TX, passed away from cancer at home age 69, on May 21, 2021, surrounded by his family.
George was born in Harlingen, TX, to Jose and Rosa Silva, now Wilhite, on December 1, 1951, the youngest of four children that include brothers Antonio and Candelario, and sister Eloina Davalos, as well as two half-brothers; Jay Dee and Andrew Anderson; who along with their mother Rosa, all survive him.
He married Sandra Silva (Cerrillo) on November 10, 1973, with whom he shared four children.
He is survived by Consuelo, Jennifer, George, and Laura; and ten grandchildren; Aydan, Aryana, Aybran, Bobby, Khloe, Kayla, Jason, Nathan, Matthew, and Ethan; as well as many nieces and nephews. His sons-in-law, Greg, Jason, and Adriel mourn his passing as well.
He is preceded in death by his father Jose, and his grandson, Avery Noel Delgado.
George was a family man who loved nothing more than a good barbecue and spending time with his kids and grandkids, who brought joy to his heart. He loved Westerns and his cowboy boots. A big rig truck driver for many years, George enjoyed traveling throughout and seeing the country he loved. He was very much the 'King of the Road'.
Beloved son, brother, father, and grandpa, we will all miss his great smile, as well as his gregarious and charming personality.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021 at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Park East Cemetery.
