Russell J. ‘Bucky' Hess Jr.

MONTICELLO — Services for Russell J. "Bucky" Hess Jr., 47, Monon, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Miller-Roscka Funeral Home.

He died at 4:20 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, in Monon.

Pastor Mearl Hodges will officiate at the services. Burial, with full military rites conducted by the Honor Guard of the American Legion, AmVets and VFW Posts, all of Monticello, will be in Bedford Cemetery, rural Monon.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, and to the Monon Food Pantry.

Biographical Information: Bucky's death was due to an automobile accident. He had lived in Monon, Indiana all of his life, and was a 1978 graduate of North White High School in Monon, Indiana. Bucky loved to bowl and was an active bowler. He also loved his motorcycle. Bucky loved his family, and all of his nieces and nephews. He had a big heart, and would do just about anything for anybody. Bucky and his brother-in-law Paul Jones cooked a lot of hogs for family reunions. He had worked at Subaru of Indiana in Lafayette, Indiana for over ten (10) years, and was active in the Indiana National Guard for eight (8) years. Bucky and his dad enjoyed woodworking, whenever they had the time.
Special Services: Full military rites by the Honor Guard of the American Legion, AmVets, and VFW Posts, all of Monticello, Indiana will be at the Bedford Cemetery in rural Monon, Indiana.
Memorial Information: May be given to the American Diabetes Association, or to the Monon Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Marriage Information: On November 7, 1992, in Monon, Indiana, he married Deanne L. Simmons. She survives.
