By 1920, Viola Fox is listed as being 15 years old, living with her 40 year old father, John Makin, and her huband Leo Fox at the time being 20 years old. Both Leo Fox and John Makin were working as moulders at the Foundry.

By 1924, There are several newspapers giving a Legal Notice for Viola Fox that her husband Leo Fox is seeking a divorce. The Lima Gazette and Lima Republican 11 Jan 1924 stated the following: "Leo C Fox accuses Mrs. Viola Fox of associating with other men and alleges she refuses to abide by her marital vows. He says he doesnt know where his wife is."
From the same newspaper on 29 Feb 1924 it states
"LEGAL NOTICE
In the court of common please, Allen County, Ohio.
Leo C. Fox, plaintiff, vs. Viola Fox, defendant.
Viola Fox, whose present place of residence is unknown, is hereby notified that Leo C. Fox has filed his petition against her for divorce on the ground of three years wilful absence, in case number 21586, of the court of common pleas, Allen County, Ohio, and that said cause will be for hearing on or after the 6th day of March, 1924.
