Marilyn Ripley Johnson,90, of Westlake, passed away on January 20, 2018, at her daughter's home in Brookwood, Alabama. (January 25, 1927 – January 20, 2018).

Marilyn loved the Lord, loved her family and her church family. She loved to invest her time reaching out to and ministering to family and friends in their time of need. For a number of years, she led the prayer chain at Bellview Baptist Church and previously at Westwood Baptist Church. Even in her more recent years, she continued to faithfully pray for many. Her prayers and faithful service will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Johnson; parents, Louis and Mary Ripley; and sister, Lenora Ripley Forrester.

Survivors include her daughter, Sabra Johnson (James Stevens) of Brookwood, Alabama; sons, Calvin Johnson (Shirley Dunn) of Sulphur, LA. and Jaceson Johnson (Donna) of Westlake, LA; brother, Bill Ripley (Roberta) of Bellingham, Washington; grandchildren, Jai Hall (Jodi) of Northport, Alabama; Erryn Goodin (Josh) of Colburg, Oregon, Stacy Daniel of Denver, Colorado, Heather Johnson of Westlake, LA, Heath Johnson of Westlake, LA, Joshua Johnson (Kaylee) of Westlake, LA. and Jacob Johnson (Stacy) of Moss Bluff, LA; great-grandchildren, Haley Hall, Ariel Hall, Ashley Johnson, Robert Hall, Tucker Goodin, Olivia Goodin, Aven Gooden, Bryce Johnson, Gavin Johnson, Payton Johnson, Greyson Johnson, Sawyer Johnson, Piper Johnson, Lainey Johnson, Brylee Johnson and Brantley Johnson; and extended family, Steve Stevens, Will Stevens, Sawyer Stevens (Christina), Ginger McGuffie (Rick), Skylyn Stevens, Lacy Stevens, Collin McGuffie and Tia McGuffie.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jai Hall, Heath Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Heather Johnson and Erryn Goodin.

Services will be held at Westwood Baptist Church in Westlake, LA on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 10:30am. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and will resume at Westwood Baptist on Thursday, from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
