Margaret "Margie" Walker, age 74, of Hinckley, MN passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Throughout the last few years Margie suffered from heart problems and circulation issues that kept her wheelchair bound. During this time David was her primary care provider and helped her as much as possible.
Margie was born at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, on October 10, 1946 to Don R. and Margaret E. (Peterson) Monteith. Throughout her childhood, Margaret attended a lot of different schools, making many friends along the way. Margie graduated from high school in Lincoln, NE. In 1967 Margie met her future husband, David Walker and married him on January 11, 1969 in Savage, MN. Margie and David made their home in Stillwater, MN on a hobby farm for a few years. In 1974 they sold their farm and bought a dairy farm outside of Hinckley, MN close to St. Croix Park. They made this their home for 22 years. Margie and David decided to move to Conway, SC where they lived until 2016, when they moved back to Hinckley. Moving into Margie's mom's house, where they still live today. Margie was a housewife, a mother, a cashier, and a farmer, not a farm wife, but a farmer. She ran the dairy farm while David was driving over the road; milking cows, making hay, cutting grain, growing a great garden, and making sure the farm ran smoothly. Margie was very creative, if she could see it in her mind, she was able to make it, whether it was an afghan, a shirt for David, or the children's summer clothes. Some of the things Margie enjoyed doing the most were gardening, growing beautiful flowers, and making delicious meals. She loved her family, she lived life to the fullest, and most of all she loved our Lord.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Don D Monteith.
Margie is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, David; her children, Kathy (Vince) Miels of Sturgeon Lake, MN, Susan (Eric) Norstrom of Brainerd, MN, Julie (Craig) McClain of Webster, WI, David (Tatiana) Walker of Duluth, MN; six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all and we will see her again, healthy and happy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Clover Community Church located next to the St. Croix Park entrance on State Hwy 48, for Margie from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2021
