Dr. Roy "Rick" Adams was born on October 7, 1928 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Matilda (Green) Adams and Clarence Adams and passed away on May 28, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to June (Spyres) Adams on July 7, 1950 in Van Buren , Arkansas. Dr. Adams was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a Pastor in Arkansas, Texas and Florida for 60 years and was also the President of Florida Baptist College for 20 of those years. He was a friend and mentor to many young ministers and led over 21 trips to the Holy Land.
Survivors are:
wife: June of the home;
2 daughters: April Adams of Marble City, OK and Cindy Rue and Harrison of Honolulu, HI;
1 son: Roy Adams of Plant City, FL;
1 grandson: John Shriner and Savanna of Pensacola, FL;
4 great-grandchildren: Elijah, Copeland, Emerson and Harper;
2 brothers: Bob Adams of North Little Rock, AR and Donald Adams of Dallas, TX;
several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
