Pat Evans, 81, passed from this life on May 26 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.  He was born on May 23, 1940, to John Henry Evans and Bertha Eva Lane Evans, in Hawkinsville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents and his three older brothers, Johnny B, Bobby, and Jerry Evans.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Kathryn (Kathy) Evans, his three children from a previous marriage - two daughters Patti (Ray) Powell of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Kelly Evans of Cle Elum, Washington, and his son Brian Evans of Monument, Colorado,  two grandsons, Sean and Scot Powell of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and his sister, Avie Evans Mitchell of Forsyth, Georgia.Pat graduated from Mary Persons HS in Forsyth, Georgia in 1958 and immediately enlisted in the US Air Force, where he spent 21 years  on many assignments, including two in Vietnam. 
When stationed in Alaska, he joined the Air Force Rifle and Pistol Team and spent years traveling to various matches, where he won many trophies.  He retired at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and then earned an Electrical Engineering and a Solar Engineering degree at Colorado Technical College.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of South Florida and went on to do some graduate  work in Public Administration, during his second career in social services in Florida. 
He worked as a volunteer and staff member for many years for the Central Florida Visitors and Convention Bureau in Polk County, Florida.  After his second retirement, he moved to Fairfield Glade, Tennessee in 2012, and Sparta, Tennessee in 2013.He was an avid golfer, bowler, boater, fisherman, hiker, reader, gardener, traveler, history buff, and birder, and was always ready for any new adventure; he was good at anything he tried.Arrangements will be made by Hunter Funeral Home of Sparta, Tennessee, where he will be cremated with no services or ceremony.  His ashes will be scattered in his beloved mountains of Colorado.
