Our beloved Eugene Curtis Harris was born on December 26, 1949 in Los Angeles, California, to the parents of Margaret Elizabeth Rousseau and Robert Thomas Harris. He was the sixth son of four siblings, the first brother, Robert Thomas Harris Jr., died two days after birth.

Eugene and his brothers all attended St. Lawrence Catholic School and Markham Jr. High. He graduated in 1968 from Jordan High School.

Eugene departed Tuesday Mary 11, 2021, leaving to cherish precious memories; his wife Joyce Harris; two sons Jamal and Donte Harris; three grandson's, Jeremy, Jalen and Jahzar Harris; two stepchildren, Lateisha Ramsey and Earsel Griffin; three brothers Leroy Harris, Marquis Harris and Walter Harris; four nieces, thee nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of cousin's throughout California.

Eugene loved going to Hanford California to visit his aunts and cousins, and participate in a game of dominos or bid whist and enjoyed the presence of his family. He was a fmaily man. Because of struggles and addictions in his life, it made it impossible for him to be the person that he was meant to be. We all know that was by design. Some young men were able to escape the raps set before them in Watts in the 1960's; others didn't make it, but we still love them just the same. He was a loving and kind young man whose nickname was Church. He was devoted to his mother and helped her when the grandchildren were around. He regretted not being able to get to know and spend quality time with his grandsons.

Father's hold their children's hands for awhile, but their hearts are forever.

Taken from Eugene's obituary.
